Melissa Carnes | Founder
Our top dog, Melissa, has been a rescue advocate for more than 20 years. She prides herself on working with local rescue groups. Recently, she founded Sugar Faces Senior Dog Rescue. She enjoys being around people who share her deep love for dogs and dedication to spoiling them.
She started the barkuterie as a fun way to provide people in her community with new, fun options to spoil their dogs while delivering fresh, locally made treats made with natural, US-made ingredients. She wholeheartedly believes in celebrating the special bond between people and their pets; there is no more incredible bond to her.
ROSA | Chief Treat Inspector
Ensuring that every recipe is perfected and that every item is pleasing to your dog’s taste is a very important job. Our Chief Treat Inspector, Rosa, takes her duties seriously at Chesapeake Barkuterie HQ. She is often found sampling cookies, licking spoons, sniffing ovens, checking the pantry inventory and carefully looking at each package as it is prepared and boxed. No baked goods or snacks find their way into our Barkuterie creations unless first approved by Rosa.
Although careful with her consideration of our work, to date Rosa has approved of EVERY item we have created!
